West San Jose Resident ceases publication

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

The West San Jose Resident has ceased publication. The May 8, 2009 issue was the last.

The local community paper started publication in 2005. At first, Silicon Valley Community Newspapers produced physical printed editions and delivered them to local homes in West San Jose. Soon after, they went online only. Some residents were unaware that the paper went online only, and thought the paper stopped publication when the newspaper stopped arriving at their doorstep.

This small article was the only announcement of the West San Jose Resident's demise.

The publishing came to an end with little fanfare. The final issue only included a 3 paragraph corner announcing its demise.

It seems too coincidental that the West San Jose Resident stopped publishing just after South Winchester News started up. A request for comment from Silicon Valley Community Newspapers went unanswered.
